Edge between the greatest guitarists of all time

In February, Rolling Stone hits newsstands in Brazil collector's edition, featuring a list of 100 greatest guitarists of all time. The poll was conducted by leading experts and who understand the subject more: the guitarists themselves.

The Edge held the 38th spot in the list. Check below the testimony of Daniel Lanois:

"Much had been said about the guitar when Edge took it. His secret is that he taught himself to play - why it is so unique. His mind is so very innovative: every U2 album in which I was involved was a new sound coming from him. There is not much fingering his style, he is basically a servant of the melody. Its focus is on the interplay between his guitar and Bono's vocals. The Edge is a scientist by day and poet by night: always have a small machine at home. Take a drum beat by Larry Mullen and back in the studio the next morning saying "Bono, I have one for you" - and presents "I Still Have not Found What I'm Looking For" with a simple riff that guides all direction of music. It is dedicated to make notes. He and his guitar tech, Dallas Schoo, documenting every detail of your sound - what pedals that used pickup - anything you think might use later. There is a fall nearly two thirds of "Mysterious Ways" before entering the music symphony that, to me, is on par with the best parts of guitar or James Brown, then, one of the best lines played by blowing Tower of Power. Not really a riff - is a moment that moves me to tears whenever I hear. "

KEY TRACK "I Will Follow," "Pride (In the Name of Love)", "The Fly", "Mysterious Ways"

The 65th edition of Rolling Stone Brazil is already on newsstands with three different covers (the content is identical): Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen and Jimmy Page.
